Bicycle Description
A bicycle is a form of transportation using two wheels along with pedals to propel you forward and a handlebar to steer it. A bike is mostly used for transportation but can also be used for exercise as well. Most people will see or use a bicycle in their lifetime, but for those who don’t the components of a bike will be confusing and not make much sense. A bicycle has many parts including the tubes, handles, wheels, brakes, handles, and seat. Each part has its own purpose and uses which will be discussed in the next few paragraphs going from handles to the wheels. By the end of this description, people with little to no knowledge of parts of a bicycle will be aware of how it works.
Handlebars

One of the most crucial parts of a bike is the handlebars which sit at the front of the bike. They are used to steer the bike and connected to it are the brake levers which are used to stop the bike. The head tube is directly under it and allows the handlebars to be moved side to side to maneuver the bicycle which then connects to the forks. The forks are used to keep the front wheel stable and have the front brake cables running down them. The stem of the bike attaches the handlebars to the rest of the bike.

Going down from the handlebars is the four tubes. The head tube goes down vertically on the bike and attaches to the down tube and top tube which both attach to the seat tube. The top tube attaches the seat tube to the head tube and comes in many different lengths which vary by what kind of bike is being made. The seat tube is used to adjust the height of the seat.

On the seat, there are many components. First, there is the saddle, which is where the rider sits on the bicycle. Underneath the seat is the seat post which goes in and out from the seat tube depending on the length required. Then at the very bottom is the seat clamp which keeps the seat still and can be used to help adjust the length of the seat.
Wheels
The seat stays connected to the seat tube and is used for the rear brake tubes to run across. There are also the chainstays that connect the chains from the back wheel to the pedals. The pedals are what make the bike move when force is applied to them through the crankset which transfers that movement to the chains to the wheel.
On both the front and back wheels there are tires that use rims to connect it to the spokes through the spoke holes. Spokes connect to the rim and allow the tire to stay in place by connecting to the hub. The hub is what allows the wheels to move freely.
Conclusion
Bicycles are transportation devices that are used in many different aspects in many different places. They are mainly used for transportation but can be used to exercise or have fun as well. It uses a variety of parts from chains to brakes to help control the bike and allow the rider to maneuver it.
