Personal Mission Statement
As a writer, I am determined to make an impact in marketing, copywriting, editing, and communications in any way that I can. I will never hesitate to bring my best and face the challenges that await me, and I would love to use my skills in an atmosphere suited for them.
Personal Identity Statement
I’ve always been passionate about the work I do, mostly engaging with writing as my main source of achievement, but watching it branch out into other areas of my life through the power of creativity has been a blessing for me. I’ve engaged in countless forms of creativity since my adolessence and I find its power to be one of a kind. I truly enjoy the flexibility and breadth that my passion has afforded me, and I do my best to engage with it to the best of my abilities and beyond.
As I grew into who I am today, topics from various areas started to catch my attention. I soon learned that I had a love for learning, looking forward to my next task or next challenge with eagerness and excitement. I channeled my love of learning into my professional life, allowing it to bleed into my work in writing, marketing, social media content, and various other subjects. Combining that with my creativity provided me a sense of rightness, and it has led me down a path that I’m proud of.
Though this has come with its own challenges. Facing a block or a hurdle that you just can’t seem to get over is disheartening, and I’ve had my fair share of challenges in that area. Sometimes I wondered if my own capabilities were a match to the people around me and caught myself doubting my own passions, but I could never stay away long. No matter what direction my life seems to be taking me, I’m always caught back in the beauty of writing, marketing, or any other field
I’ve given much work to my writing career. I’ve written for as long as I could remember, but in recent years I’ve truly been able to blossom. I’ve written technical, creative, non-fiction, academic, etc. It’s been a tool that I’ve yielded unwaveringly, and I don’t intend to stop doing so anytime soon. I’ve written for coding, a subject that I’ve never been familiar with, and found the excitement of research and using my skills to be profoundly rewarding and invigorating. It so happened that my writing even led me into another area of careers I never expected to find myself in: marketing.
I started doing marketing work at Hallmark last year. Originally, I hadn’t planned to do anything of the sort, but it wasn’t long before I realized just how fun it is to do it. To know your audience and create just the right advertisements or strategies to get them to come into the store was exciting and new for me. I realized how my work could extend into marketing. I created posts through social media, made flyers for the store, and engaged with customers face-to-face to try to convince them of the importance of our product. I truly enjoyed doing this, and I’m hopeful to keep being able to do this in the future.
My passion has ended up being far more congruent with my professional life than I ever expected it to be. I’ve seen my creativity and writing be turned into multitudes of different projects that have aided me in my life in ways I’d never imagined. I truly am grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given to use my skills and to challenge them so I could grow and learn more about the beauty of writing and its connection to the world around us.
