Content Writer Personal Mission Statement
As a content writer, I will make it my goal to write the best work I possibly can and cater it to the specific needs and wants of those I work for. It will be creative work that allows people to grow and flourish with my help.
Personal Identity Statement
From a young age I knew that there was one thing I loved to do above all else-writing. It was a gateway that allowed me to use my creativity and my skills in a way that felt right to me. I spent hours writing about myself, about different topics I’d come across, and about stories that I’d come up with. There was nothing I’d rather do than write about anything and everything all the time.
As I grew older, more topics started to interest me as well. I loved science and math as well as history and art. There was something so exciting and fun about learning new things that spanned over dozens of different topics that always captivated me, and I decided to start channeling that into my writing, allowing me the space to explore what I loved to do as well as explore new and exciting things that were out there for me to write about. It gave me the freedom to not only continue doing what I love but to also span out and find new things to learn.
Although, there did come a time where I didn’t know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go in life. It confused me and left me in a state of panic. I knew I loved to write and I knew it allowed me to explore dozens of other things that excited and interested me, but I couldn’t find a place in it. This is what I loved doing, but it didn’t feel like there was anything out there that fit all my interests and would allow me to harness and utilize my skills. I felt very isolated and trapped, and I made decisions that led me away from my long held passion of writing to something that I felt was safer and more secure.
Since then, I’ve realized that isn’t the case. I’ve explored my options and I’ve seen the amazing and expansive world that exists out there for writers such as myself, and one of the paths that I’ve come across that makes me feel excited about my writing and about my future in it was content writing. I didn’t understand it much at the time, I was still very lost and confused as to what I wanted to do with myself, but I soon realized just how much I could do and learn by being a content writer. It allows me the freedom to write in different areas and explore new fields that exist out there without being confined to one place, nurturing my creativity and allowing me to utilize it.
I started to write blogs for a new company last year and since then I’ve continued practicing and honing my craft. So far I’ve been writing for the same field, but I’ve been trying my hand at others during my free time to see what I find enjoyable. It’s been an eye opening experience that’s given me a whole new avenue of writing to explore that I’ve found to be incredibly beneficial for myself and my career.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of this career path is the way in which I can use my creativity. I’m able to use my skills in unique ways that I never thought I could use before and it gives me a whole new idea on what it means to write and what it means to write creatively. I enjoy all aspects of writing, even in the forms I’m least knowledgeable on, and having the challenge of writing for topics or areas that I’m unaware of has been an excellent exercise for me. Being able to be creative and think critically using my writing is important to me, and going down this career path keeps all of that intact.
